Good morning friends,
Quote of the week:
Sorrow and sickness, and poverty, and persecution, can never touch them (servants of Christ in every age), unless God sees fit. They may boldly say to every cross “You could have no power against me, except it were given you from above.” – J.C. Ryle

- NASB 2020 – evangelicalbible.com – After completion in 1971, the NASB was updated in 1977, 1995, and most recently in 2020, according to the best scholarship available at the time. The purposes of the updates have been to increase accuracy, clarity, and readability. Every aspect of vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and meaning was carefully reviewed during each update. The result is an accurate translation that clearly communicates the Word of God in contemporary English.: https://evangelicalbible.com/nasb2020/
- Review of apologetics book by pastor shows where church needs to improve | WINTERY KNIGHT – Whenever I talk to Christians, I find that they hold one of two views about what faith is. The first view of faith is the Biblical view of faith as active trust in propositions we know to be true, because we have reasons and evidence to believe those propositions. This view is not only rooted in the Bible, but it extends through Augustine and Aquinas to the present day. I have written about this view of faith before, and quoted many theologians in support of it. In the Bible, people use miracles as a sign in order to convince skeptics. For example, Peter appeals to the resurrection in Acts 2. The Bible teaches that faith is active trusting based on evidence. The second view is blind faith. This view is nowhere in the Bible, and this view asserts that becoming a Christian is a leap-of-faith in the dark against all the evidence. This view not only minimizes evidence, but it actually opposes presenting evidence to unbelievers and skeptics in the way that the Bible teaches. This view is nowhere in the Bible, and it was not the method used by Jesus or his followers. It is an unBiblical way of viewing faith, but it is very popular in some circles of Christianity. It is also popular among atheists, because this is what many Christian leaders and pastors tell them that faith is.: https://winteryknight.com/2022/02/10/review-of-apologetics-book-by-pastor-shows-where-church-needs-to-improve/

- Gods Design for Bioluminescence | Answers in Genesis – With the coming of night in Brazils Coconut Forest, bioluminescent mushrooms dial up their green glow. They attract insects that can carry spores far and wide under the nearly windless canopy. Until recently many scientists thought their dim glow was a random byproduct of mushroom metabolism, related perhaps to the digestion of decaying wood. Circadian Control Sheds Light on Fungal Bioluminescence published in Current Biology, however, offers the first solid evidence that mushroom bioluminescence is regulated and purposeful.: https://answersingenesis.org/evidence-for-creation/design-in-nature/gods-design-for-bioluminescence/
